Blogging, No Flogging

Initially, I didn’t know what to write about when creating a blog. There are so many inspiring blogs about cooking, design, technology, entrepreneurship already created. I’m just a normal guy, with a 9-5. I’m not that interesting.

So instead of writing about myself, I’ve decided to write about what I am interested in. What I am interested in –apologies mum if you’re reading this as I’m about to drop and F-Bomb – is Fitness.

Fitness has always been a big part of my life. I started sports from the age of 5. I started conditioning training in my early twenties. However, the first time I joined a gym was when I was 25 years old.

Fitness is still a daily occurrence so it makes sense to write down my thoughts on different aspects of it. Plus, my friends are sick of me talking about protein so maybe the internet will listen!

You are probably thinking “Great… just what the internet needs; another annoying fitness blog!” I can’t promise I won’t annoy anyone but what I do promise is to be positive, honest, encouraging. Or as the kids call it: “preaching realness”.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not an expert on fitness. I’m not a nutritionist, I don’t have any qualifications in the subject. However, I’m now in my 30s, still fit and healthy, and most importantly, I still love it!

And that’s my issue. It seems that love has been lost. The reason to exercise is better ourselves, become healthier, and enjoy it. However, it seems many people are in it to make money or for their ego. Why else would people take steroids? Even though exercise is completely non-subjective (you get out entirely what you put in), the fitness industry is so fake. It’s full of false advertising, wrongful advice, and filtered physiques.

That’s the aim of this blog. I want to encourage others to start (or continue) with their fitness journey regardless of where they are in life and learn to love it. There is no hidden agenda nor am I selling any products. First and foremost, I want to keep myself motivated as I go through my 30s and secondly, I aim to help others along with me.

So welcome to Fitness in Your 30s; where it is strictly blogging and no flogging.
